CANCER SURGERY
Surgery remains central to the treatment of many solid tumours. The key questions are whether surgery is appropriate, whether a complete oncological resection is realistically possible and how the operation fits into the full treatment sequence.
Medical decisions are made by the evaluating physicians and hospitals. MEDITRAVEL coordinates access and communication.
PATIENT DECISION PATHWAY

Hospital · physician · tumour board
03
Plan · timeline · estimated cost
Stage, relationship to nearby structures, metastatic disease and response to previous therapy.
Disease-specific experience can be more important than the hospital brand alone.
Open, laparoscopic or robotic surgery should be selected according to the disease and surgeon.
Chemotherapy or radiotherapy may be needed before or after surgery depending on the cancer.
Robotics can offer technical advantages for selected minimally invasive procedures, but it is not a substitute for appropriate indication and surgeon experience.
Send the available reports and imaging information before organising travel.
